About

Twelve years of making things that had to work on Monday.

I started in a print studio, moved to a product team, and have run my own practice since 2019. The through-line has always been the same: figure out what the thing is really for, then remove everything that is not that.

  • Clients from two-person studios to listed companies
  • Teaching a short course on visual systems each spring

Step one

We agree what “finished” means

Before anything is designed, we write down what the project has to achieve and how we will know it did. One page, no jargon.

Step two

Rough, then right

Early work is deliberately unpolished, so the conversation stays about the idea. Polish arrives once the direction is settled — never before.
